In a historic meeting at the birthplace of Taekwondo, President Grand Master Rick W. Shin (Professional Taekwondo Federation & Kombat Taekwondo) met with President Grand Master Choi Jung Hwa (International Taekwondo Federation), son of Taekwondo’s Founder, General Choi Hong Hi.
This powerful encounter symbolized unity, respect, and a shared vision for Taekwondo’s future. As the 70th anniversary of ITF approaches in 2026, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to preserving Taekwondo’s roots while promoting innovation and opportunities for all practitioners.
President Shin acknowledged that over 60% of Kombat Taekwondo’s global athletes come from ITF backgrounds—proof of General Choi’s enduring legacy.
