Dr. Chungwon Choue to Be Re-Elected as World Taekwondo President Unopposed

📍 Seoul, South Korea – August 2025

The official list of candidates for the upcoming World Taekwondo (WT) elections has been released, confirming that current President Dr. Chungwon Choue will be re-elected automatically, as no challengers have registered to contest the position.

With this outcome, Dr. Choue — who first assumed office in 2004 — is set to continue leading World Taekwondo until 2029. By the end of this new term, he will have completed 25 years at the helm of the organization.
